The half an hour flight begins at Ushuaia City's old airport, where the flying club is located, just 10 minutes walking distance from the center of Ushuaia.
Upon arrival at the Aeroclub, you will be received by one of our pilots who will provide all the information about the flight along with the required safety information.
When everything is ready, you will board one of our eight airplanes, which will has been selected previously by the pilot to satisfy your needs. All our aircraft are in perfect state of maintenance, meeting the highest standards in this area.
After takeoff we climb up to an average altitude of 1,500 feet (equivalent to about 450 meters) while flying over Ushuaia Bay and the city. At this early stage, you can see the most important buildings in the city, the Andes and the famous Le Martial Glacier.
The city is left behind and we head westbound towards the area of the Tierra del Fuego National Park. On our way to the park, you can see Golondrina Bay, Pipo River Valley, De la Oveja Canyon and Mount Susana. Once in the area of the National Park, the main points of interest of the reserve are spotted: Bahía Ensenada, Lapataia Bay, Redonda Island, Estorbo Island, Roca Lake, Black Lake, Laguna Verde, among others. We continue flying west to the international border with Chile in Hito XXVI, where it you can see Yendegaia Bay with its impressive glacier, located in Chile.
A 180 degree turn is made and we fly over the Beagle Channel heading east. You can observe the impressive Chilean Hoste Island, the Murray Channel, Navarino Island and Puerto Navarino. The islands that form the Bridges Islands are overflown, contemplating the Islas Malvinas International Airport, the seawolves Island, Birds Island, and most importantly, the enigmatic and lonely Les Eclereurs Lighthouse (known to some as Faro del Fin del Mundo, the end of the world lighthouse).
Now in the final stage of our flight, the lighthouse sector is left behind to fly over Tunel Ranch as we return to Ushuaia Bay, where we fly over the city while descending before landing in the old airport. It is at this precise moment when you have the best views of downtown Ushuaia from above.
