\n The Piper PA-34 Seneca is a light twin-engine aircraft of U.S. origin, produced by Piper Aircraft from 1971 to the present.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n The Seneca is used primarily for personal and business air transportation.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n The Seneca was developed as a twin-engine version of the Piper Cherokee Six, with a prototype designated PA-32-3M; it consisted of a Cherokee Six – normally equipped with a 300hp Lycoming O-540 front engine – to which two Lycoming O-235 engines were fitted in the wings (115hp each). For this reason the prototype was operated as a trimotor in the initial stages of the test program.<\/div>\n

\n Responding to complaints about the aircraft’s maneuvering capabilities, Piper introduced the PA-34-200T Seneca II. The aircraft was certified on July 18, 1974 and introduced as a 1975 model.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n The new model incorporated changes to the control surfaces, including longer and more balanced ailerons, the addition of an anti-servo tab and bobweights on the elevator.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n The “T” in the model suffix reflected the switch to Continental TSIO-360E or EB turbocharged six-cylinder engines to increase performance, particularly at high altitudes. The Seneca II retained the counter-rotating configuration of the Seneca I engines.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n The Seneca II also introduced a club-style seating arrangement (club-seating, which refers to two rows of seats facing each other, allowing for greater interaction between passengers and a greater sense of comfort). A total of 2,588 Seneca II’s were built.<\/div>\n
